The late surge by CSK batters, almost every time they bat, whether batting first or chasing, was scripted in this match as well. Courtesy that, batting first they posted an imposing total of 186.
Chasing, with 13/1 in 2 overs, 36/2 in 6 overs and 73/3 in 10.3 overs, KXIP were virtually out of game since beginning of their innings. They came back into reckoning soon with 19 runs in the 12th over and remained in hunt till the last over scoring consistently well in late overs, requiring 19 of it, before losing out on the first ball of the final over for good. This turned out to be a superb over for the bowler, with 3 wickets to him. The poor batsmen were suddenly helpless again and couldn't get runs.
